May 2007 News Expansion Update(6/22/07) We are still waiting for I.D.O.T. to give us the go ahead to start our building project. In the meantime, we have been working to find a location that will house one of our 3-6 classrooms for the 2007 school year. As of yesterday we now have two locations that we choosing between. We will be contacting the City of Yorkville to have the building inspector approve a site and then be letting all parents know which campus/times your child will attend school in the fall. We are very excited about the building that we viewed last night that is at the corner of Route 47 and 126 and ask that you pray the city zoning director will grant this space to our school. Approval from the Kendall County Board (5/15/07) The Kendall County Board approved our Special Use permit for expansion pending the Illinois Department of Transportation's decision of whether a turn lane is needed for our expansion. We expect to hear from I.D.O.T. soon on their ruling. We have now been told that we can begin building as soon as we have a release from I.D.O.T. A Sensory Garden is on the way Soon a small "Sensory Garden" will be in the play garden at Peaceful Pathways! We got some of our first plants in this week and will continue to add more plants. Here are some photos of the children experiencing some of the plants. Some favorites are the plants that smell like pineapple, chocolate mint and lemon drops! We will also be adding lamb's ear and some plants with rough leaves to add to the sense of touch.
Dad's Night The dads (and a mom and Grandma) came to see their child at work. The children showed their dads around the classroom and how to do the work! We ended the night with a few songs and "making silence."

Dinner By Design Offer Click here to find out an exciting offer Dinner By Design has for Peaceful Pathways and any friends that would like to support our school! Building Update (as of 4/24/07) The Kendall County Special Use Hearing Officer approved our site plan to move forward to the Planning Building and Zoning Committee meeting on May 8 and the Kendall County Board Meeting on the morning of May 15. We have been advised by the Director of Planning, Building and Zoning that we will not be allowed to break ground until this meeting is complete. We have been meeting all the requirements made by the county and do not anticipate any difficulties - just this timely process. The Kendall County Board Meeting is our final meeting that is required. At this point we still plan to open the Monday following the Yorkville school district. Our first day of school will be Monday, September 10, 2007. All students on our waiting list will be notified of their status following the meeting on May 15. We will continue to pray that these last two meeting move smoothly. Thank you for your prayers and letters of support. Please let us know if you would like to attend the Kendall County Board Meeting to show your support on Tuesday, May 15 at 9 A.M.
