Viking Research The elementary students having been talking about the "needs of man" lesson which discusses the basic needs of all people and civilizations. There is the need of food, shelter, religion, communication and transportation. This lead to a discussion of how the Vikings lived. A speaker was invited and presented a power point presentation on her Viking research.
The students then started researching in many books about the Vikings and how they lived. They made projects to depict the tools, clothing, transportation and shelter that the Vikings had.
Many of the students told their classmates what they researched during the past several weeks.
Some students brought in foods that the Vikings enjoyed and everyone got a chance to try the Viking food. There were breads, berries, desserts and salted fish.
