Classroom Community Meeting Parents of our students are invited to a Classroom Community Meeting. We will be discussing what is happening in your child's class. There will be demonstrations of work that is happening in our classroom. We will be discussing the Practical Life and Sensorial areas of the classroom. We will also discuss ways to help your child become more independent at home and have some informational articles about being a Montessori parent. Learning numbers to 9999! Two of our students completed the 45 Layout today! The children were able to see what the difference between 1and 9999 is. Single unit beads, bars of 10 beads, and blocks of 100 and 1000 are used to represent each number.
Show and Tell One of our students watched a field being harvested last weekend. She brought in an ear of field corn that was harvested and with the kernels missing. Here are a few of her interested classmates waiting a turn to see what their friend brought . . .
Settling in to our second month of school . . . This morning I went into the classroom to see what the children were working on. There was a busy hum in the room of children at work. One group of children joined the teacher for a presentation on letter sounds while other children were in the various areas of the classroom. Some children had chosen to work alone and others were working together. Here are some photos of some of the children working . . .
