Apples! Apples! Apples!
We have been talking about apples during our line time. We know there are red, yellow, and green apples. We found the star in the middle of the apple . . . we painted with apples . . . we cut the apples . . . ate the apples and even learned how to make applesauce with them!
Composting
Today we read a book about composting next to our compost pile. We will be using the compost in spring when we plant our sensorial garden!
Shhhhhh! Children Working . . .
The busy hum of children working in the classroom each day is so exciting! There are children working in all the areas. Some students are pouring, polishing, making maps, making flags, using numbers, practicing letter sounds, painting, and enjoying time spent with friends.

Welcome Back Picnic
It was a lovely night to have an outdoor picnic. Everyone had a great time visiting, playing games, and eating delicious food prepared by each family. The children had fun rolling down the hill, playing tag, throwing balls and frisbees, and just chatting.
A Walk Around Campus
It was a beautiful day and our afternoon class took a walk around campus to see what was growing. We picked lemon balm and smelled the lemony scent the leaves have. We also picked some raspberries that were growing and each tried one berry! In the prairie we watched the birds flying from plant to plant eating the seeds on the flowers. Down by the creek we played the "silence game" and heard lots of fun sounds.
First Day of School
We welcomed many new friends to our classroom this year! Here are some first day photos. Everyone had fun working with the materials in our classroom. There is so much to do! Putting a flashlight together, making bubbles, working with the pink tower and brown stair, reading, and sorting. Learning to be independent is fun work!
