Family Welcome Back Picnic
We had a wonderful evening together celebrating the new school year. It was fun to catch up with old friends and meet with new friends. The weather was warm and dry this year so the children had fun playing outdoors together. Everyone brought a dish to pass making a wonderful meal to share.
Scholastic Book Orders
Welcome new and returning P.P.M.A. parents to our Scholastic Book orders.
This is an opportunity for you to buy books for your children at a discount while earning books for his or her classroom. This year you will make one check for your entire order to Scholastic. This means that if you fill out an order form from more than one catalog, you will add the totals together for one check. There will not be online orders this year because the elementary students will be collecting and tallying all the book orders as part their lessons. The deadline for this Scholastic order is Wednesday, September 23rd.
First Week of School
We have had a successful first week of school. Everyone is settling in nicely. Old friends have been catching up and new friends are learning new routines and making friends. It is an exciting year for us all as we have our new building complete with classrooms that have wonderful views of the outdoors. Here is a glimpse into our classrooms during the first week:
First Day of School
A few reminders for the safety and consideration of others . . .
Please remember there are no left turns into our driveway as of Tuesday, September 8. Families coming from the east must pass the driveway and circle by taking a left on Wing Road (there are lots of pot holes), right on Route 126(Schoolhouse Road), and right on Route 71 (Stagecoach Drive) OR pass Route 126(Schoolhouse Road) to a small street named "Identa Road" turn right, and then right on Route 126 and left on Route 71(Stagecoach Drive). You may exit by turning left or right.
Car line times:
If your class starts at 8:30 the carline is from 8:15 - 8:25. Pick up is at 11:30 or 3:15.
If your class starts at 8:45 the carline is from 8:30 - 8:40. Pick up is at 11:45 or 3:30.
Please do not come early or late so that our car lines do not overlap. You may be asked to leave and come back if you are too early. Lateness results in tardies. If you arrive after the car line time you are assigned to, you will need to park your car in the parking lot spaces and come into the office to sign your child in.
Elementary Community Night
Parents of elementary students should plan to attend this meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 21. This meeting is for parents only. There will be discussion about expectations for home and school, going out trips, communication between home and school and volunteer opportunities.
Family Picnic
Our family picnic date has changed to Friday, September 18 due to a scheduling conflict. This event is pot luck. Please bring along a favorite dish to pass. Watch for event details next week.
