A New School Year
We have been in school for two weeks now and have observed the children settling down and going to work with great joy! I just love walking around our classrooms listening to the buzz of working children that are engaged in learning and focused on the activities at hand. Take a look at some of the students at work in our primary, elementary and adolescent classrooms:
Our primary students (ages 3-6) are busy working independently in their classrooms.
Lots of activities are taking place throughout the rooms.
Parent Teacher Conferences
NO SCHOOL this Friday, September 30, 2011
Parents should call the school to schedule a conference time with your child's teacher.
Language Stars
Language Stars will begin their Spanish program for elementary students on Monday, September 12. The class is from 3:45 to 4:30 on Mondays. If you are interested in enrolling your P.P.M.A. elementary student in Language Stars, please contact Language Stars directly or pick up a registration form in the front office of the school.
Maria Montessori - Her Life
Do you want to know more about who Dr. Maria Montessori was? Come join us for a short documentary about her life and her work on Monday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. Please R.S.V.P. to the school office so we will have enough chairs for you to join us!
Family Picnic
Our family picnic is scheduled for Friday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m. This event is pot luck. Please bring along a favorite dish to pass. A sign up sheet for the picnic will be available during the dismissal car line and by calling the school office and speaking with Ms. Kristi. The location is listed on the September school calendar sent home on Thursday, September 1st. Please R.S.V.P. by Wednesday, September 14 so we can rent a chair and table space for you and your family. Families should plan to bring table service (plate, silverware, etc.). Orange drink and cups will be provided.
Elementary Community Night
Parents of elementary students should plan to attend this meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6. This meeting is for parents only. There will be discussion about expectations for home and school, going out trips, communication between home and school and volunteer opportunities.
NO School on Labor Day - Monday, September 5, 2011
Registration
Parents of students returning to PPMA : Do not forget to stop by the school office between 8:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011. It is the last day to pick up your registration papers and peek at the new classrooms.
New Families: Do not forget to schedule an orientation time for your child to meet their new teacher next Thursday and Friday (August 25 &26). There is also a Parent Orientation Meeting for students enrolled at Peaceful Pathways on Wednesday, August 24. This meeting is for parents of children that are transitioning to new classrooms and new families. This is an evening for parents only.
